May 14th, 2021
Over the last few days since the date of this, the guidance on coronavirus has changed dramatically. New guidelines have been issued by both the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and the Ohio DOH (Department of Health). I will leave links to their guidance at the end of this statement.
Given their guidance, I will restart shooting esports and FGC events as they happen in the Ohio area with stipulations and as schedule allows. As stated by both the Ohio DOH and the CDC, business owners have the right to still enforce the mandates that we have been living with over the past year or so. I have thought about this and come up with guidelines I will follow as a contractor beginning June 2nd, 2021.
- As a photographer for an indoor event, I will always wear a mask or face covering.
- I will maintain social distancing where possible.
- I will provide a lounge owner/management or gaming club owner/management with proper documentation of vaccination when requested. I do not consent to it being posted on the internet or social media for any reason whatsoever.
- I will add an additional stipulation to my contract’s right to withdrawal. If a guest(s) at a function exhibit COVID-like symptoms that remain unchecked by event staff OR the event has little to zero sanitation measures to prevent the spread of COVID, I reserve the right to immediately depart an event.
- I reserve the right to amend these guidelines.
In observing, talking or listening to dialog from various figures in the Ohio gaming communities, most all of them are continuing to exercise caution. Some have plans for in-person events with safety precautions and some are not planning for in-person events at this point. My choice will be to do what is within my power to ensure not only my safety, but those around me by being vaccinated. But to also attempt to set at ease those that cannot be sure at a glance of my own status. Also, in part because the guidelines set forth don’t set a means of proving a vaccination. Thank you for reading.
